Silon/Fischer – Sinews: holding our sh*t together

now part of the Center for Liberatory Practice & Poetry’s Library Collection

Tereza Silon and Kathryn Fischer are delighted to have textual documentation of their work, Sinews: holding our sh*t together, accepted by the  Center for Liberatory Practice & Poetry’s Resource Library. Sinews: holding our sh*t together is an immersive sound piece and physical space for deep listening. weaving together over 100 clips of voice notes left between Silon and Fischer over the course of several years, the piece documents the feminist practice of care across kilometers, through sharing and listening, witnessing joys and tears.

The library collection of works of poetry, mutual aid and study guides, magazines, artworks, and independent publications, is grouped across the following themes: Access, Anarchy, Breath, Black Feminism, Care, Cooperative, Decolonization, Disability Justice, Experiments, Rage, Theory, Translation, Poetry, Memory, Movement, and Queer. In organizing various projects across open-ended themes, the Center for Liberatory Practice & Poetry hopes to encourage library visitors to encounter new materials, authors, and groups they are unfamiliar with.

Find out more about where Sinews has been exhibited here. In the resource library you can find it categorized under #queer #poetry #community and #cooperative

Soli Tunes: an a/v compilation to benefit Palestinian artists

a project initiated by Your Moms Agency

Following in the foot steps of Your Mom’s Agency’s collaborative compilations and soundpacks Detroit x Berlin and Los Angeles x Berlin, over forty diverse creatives from fourteen countries have joined hands to release nine exclusive and three re-edited collaborations, from November to December 2024.

The compilation combines different electronic music styles, ranging from ambient to techno, and from electro to hip-hop, and it also matches unique visuals to every track, making each collaboration a multi-faceted piece standing as a testimonial of the arts scene expressing solidarity with those facing cultural erasure.

Featured musicians include 6zm, Ahmed Eid, Almevan, Brikks, Confuse, Conscious Summary, dvdv, Eric Hoegemeyer, FridaY, Khadija, kingboy, Leah King, Luka Fisher, Mad Kate, Mentrix, Nbor, Nomadico (Underground Resistance), Nour Palestina, Oras Elone, Sarah Kivi, Sean Tate aka The Butcher, Strip Down, Taj Bell, Venusloc and a few more.

Visual artists include Safa and her traditional Palestinian tatreez with a twist on the cover, plus AYA, Claire Saint-Marc, Daniel Crook, Faisal Yassin, GetJervis, Infinite Livez, Li Chi Hsiao, Marianne Jacquet, and Ray of Light among others.

All Soli Tunes Bandcamp donations will be sent to a Palestine-based community studio for composing and recording; we already thank Orchestral Tools for pledging production software to the studio!

Thanks to Femalemacho and Refuge Worldwide, plus dublab, for upcoming radio shows, as well as BBX, Mixmag, Mixmag MENA, and NBHAP for incoming features, and Bandcamp for their publishing support.
